Learning Observed

Today Sivhkeng completed a PM Benchmark Reading Assessment with me and read a Blue Level 11 text.  She read with a natural rhythm most of the time and with expression.  Sivkheng answered all five comprehension questions accurately.

Evidence of learning

Sivkheng scored 98% on word accuracy and 5/5 for comprehension.  She occasionally used the pictures to help make sense of the story and used her letter/sound knowledge to work out unfamiliar words, e.g. ‘watch - went’.

Key Competencies/Vision Principles

Sivkheng is developing her Capabilities in Reading and is Thinking about what she is reading to ensure that it all makes sense.  She is good at recognising many high frequency words (Using Language, Symbols and Text) and tries to Connect what she is reading to her own life experiences.
